Separate Law?

WEEK 4

Apart from Anti-Bullying Act, why should there be a separate law that focuses on cyberbullying?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

According to Cyberbullying Statistics, the object of attack of those who cyberbully others are attack on reputation, appearance, and attack against the victims opinion. Also, according to them, the common flatform used by the cyberbully's re Facebook, cellphone, and blogs. Cyberbulllying Statistics gives also the top 3 nature of attack of cyberbullying which are spreading photoshopped image, spreading videos that are meant to be private and poser or spreading lives.

Cyberbullying has become more powerful and a common problem in our society. It is a serious case that we shouldn't just ignore. Because of the advancement of technology, we cannot deny that each and one of us has a electronic devices such as computer, cellphone, laptop or tablet that we usually use in our everyday life. Those said gadgets can contribute or can be part of the uncontrolled growth of cyberbullying being done through the use of electronic gadgets.

The law being implemented for Anti-Bullying is not enough to pay attention for all of the cases of bullying being reported especially the cyberbullying cases. Because of it's lot of concerns to attend to, it was really impossible for the said law to take actions immediately for the said situation. Besides, this law only focuses on those students or people at any age who attends to school.

Since cyberbullying is a case which may happen anytime or anywhere in any form, how could the said law will happen to handle it? So I suggests that there should be a separate law that focuses only on cyberbullying because many people or everyone can experience it in an unexpected time or location as along as they are using the technology. The effects of cyberbullying is unpredictable and undetectable but one is for sure, it can destroy the life of others. Every little action that we will do with the use of internet , every posts or anything can spread like a thunder in just a short span of time.

The separate law or an act about Anti-Cyberbullying should be penalize to cure this unending problem. We should know the right and advantages of every person on the internet for the cyberbullying to stop. Cyberbullying is not a joke, so we must take it seriously and find ways on how to avoid it immediately.

Your Bullying Behavior

WEEK 3

Does bullying behavior make the bully more or less popular?

In most of the time, cases of bullying are becoming more and more familiar, popular and influential which is done in any form without knowing the real reason why it happen.  Sometimes we also didn’t notice how much it affects the life of others especially the person involved in the situation.

After knowing the actual story, we tend to tell it to other people and sometimes we contribute in worsening the situation because we keep on spreading the rumor instead of finding a way on how to stop it.

In this world wherein technologies are  everywhere and uncontrollable, with the use of internet or any electronic gadget, we can easily distribute lots of information in just a short span of time to many people because of the technologies wider view.

Somehow, in some cases, the bullying behavior can make the bully more popular. They are the one who make the scene and act as the superior, strong and powerful one who makes the other person suffer. Because of his action, if someone took a picture of him or saw him doing the acts, the person might post the said picture or tell the other people by sending text messages to them. In that way, many people who received the messages and seen the pictures will keep on talking about him and he will be known anywhere he go because of what he did.

It is true that the bully will become popular because he is known by people for being a delinquent. He will be known in many way depending on how he undergone the act of bullying.

Hey Nandita!

WEEK 4

A guy Nadita knew asked her to a party. She politely declined, making up an excuse not to go. When Nadita a second and third invitation from to go out with the guy, he started sending her creepy emails and text messages. The messages referred to her “hot” body and contained sexual comments. Nandita told her friend, who advised Nandita to ignore it. When the unwanted messages continued, Nandita went to her school Guidance Counselor, even though she felt embarrassed to discuss the problem. The counselor told Nandita that she was sexually harassed and that school administrators would take action to make the harassment stop.

Nandita was a very brave girl because she have the guts to share her problem to someone, even though she felt embarrassed but still continue which is a very good thing. Based on her action, I can say that Nandita handle her situation being sexually harassed in a well and better way. She nevermind the thought of being humiliated because of the content of those creepy email and text messages being send to her which is all about her hot body with sexual comments.

I think of Nandita and as a girl, a teenager rather, I will do the same thing also. But on the other hand, I will not wait or let these kind of thing happen to me for a long time. Especially if it was all about my reputation and dignity as a woman. I will immediately make an action and seek for someone's help regarding this situation. I will not anymore tolerate the unwanted behavior of this person towards me.

As a women, we have all the things in our body which should be taken care of. So it's better to put an end to those unlikely actions of someone who knew nothing but to make fun of the life of others before the situation get's worse.

Rashad's Action

WEEK 3

Someone who Rashad had “friended” on Facebook – a person he had met once at a party but didn’t know very well – started posting weird photographs on Rashad’s timeline. After discussing the situation with his dad, Rashad sent the person a private message asking him to stop, but the inappropriate postings continued. Rashad too three additional actions: He “unfriended” the person on Facebook, he blocked the person from seeing his Facebook account, and he finally reported the offensive photographs to Facebook administrators.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unwanted post's of messages or email, pictures or anything being posted to someone's wall or timeline without the owner's permission is can be considered as interfering to someone's privacy.Resulta ng larawan para sa posts for facebook

In Rashad's situation, I can say that he handle the situation very well. He was able to find a solution his problem which is because of someone whom he had just friended on Facebook. For this person who kept on posting something that Rashad's dont like in his timeline, it is a good thing that he discussed the situation with his dad. Since we all know that it is better to ask for someone's advise and guidance before making an action in a particular situation.

But then again, maybe sending a message asking this person to stop wasn't enough that's why what Rashad's did when he unfriended, blocked, and report the offensive photographs was really the best way to stop this person from pestering his peaceful social-life.

If I were Rashad and I will be in this same kind of scenario, I will do the same thing also. After all, when the problem was all about social media it is the least that we can do to prevent the said scenario--- cyber bullying. But for me, unlike Rashad I will keep some of the word photographs as evidence if ever this person finds another way to communicate again with me and the unwanted post of photos continues.

Why bystanders?

Should bystanders in cyberbullying cases be penalize?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you commit a crime especially a serious one, you don't have a choice but to be intern unless you are given an opportunity to pay your bail. But if you are just the witness, why would the authority pick you and send you to jail? Why would they bother to do so, if they know and you know to yourself that you did nothing wrong? Isn't it the committers or the one who commit mistake deserves to be in jail?

Same to that those bystanders, why should they be penalize if they are not the one who commit the act of cyber bullying? The fact that bystanders are those people who just witness the act of bullying but not involve, they are still considered as the innocent one. They are not the one who makes that particular person suffer and so, they have nothing to do with the crime. They are not the person involve in taking the action and they are not the one who have a problem to the person being bullied. They are just the person who happen to witness the scene. They don't have any idea about it because they are just the witness. The witness that may help the person being bullied to solve his problem.

If the person who suffers from cyber bullying or in any type of bullying can't speak out for himself, with the help of bystanders he may be able to reach out for help.

Therefore, I stand that bystanders in cyber bullying cases shouldn't be penalize. I prefer the cyberbullies to be put in jail. Cyber bullying can happen anytime, anywhere with a lot of people who can see because it is done through the use of technology or any form of electronic gadget. If the people who just happen to see or witness the crime can't bare what it is all about, what more to that person being point out in that particular post or something. Some might just ignore it but some may care about it especially to the person.
Kaugnay na larawan

Not all the time bystanders makes the situation even worse. In some cases, they are the reason why that person be able to speak out and be able to blurted out what she feel. Because of the concern and care to the person being cyber bullied, they help to find a solution to end that condition that makes the life of people who are in it, miserable.

Bystanders have their choice on what to do in times they witness a cyber bullying acts. It is in their hand if they will care or they will just ignore it. It is their decision if they will help that person or not. But whatever they do, they are not involve in the scene so we cannot blame them. Whatever they do, it is their own will. We cannot accuse them of anything because they are out of it. They are not guilty and so they can't be in jail.

How to?

WEEK 2

Situation 2:

A friend of Doris received a text message accusing Doris of having shoplifted a makeup from a department store, the story was false , and the person spreading the rumor was jealous  that Doris got an excellent grades. Doris discovered that this person had spread the same text rumor to at least two of her friends. Doris discussed the situation with her coach after soccer practice. The coach suggested that Doris send the girl a text message asking her to stop spreading the rumor. He also advised her to get the copies of the text rumor from her friends to keep as evidence in case the problem continued.

Discuss how well you think the person in the story handled cyberbullying and how you might have handled it differently.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem is a situation that needs a solution for which there are possible solutions.  In order to find a solution, you only need to stay calm, think clearly, and don't let these problem affects you everyday life.
Resulta ng larawan para sa text message
So for me, this is how Doris handle her situation being cyber-bullied by someone because of jealousy. Doris being accused of having a shoplifted was really a big deal because it might affect her studies and dignity as a student, but since the story as false and the person spreading the rumor was just jealous of her, she didn't make any move that might worsen the situation. Although, I guess Doris knew who is the person spreading the false text rumor, she stay till do nothing to that person because she knows she was not guilty.
Resulta ng larawan para sa cyberbullying
It is also a good thing that Doris asked her coach about this. At least she will have someone who knows the real part of the story. I also agree to what her coach suggested about this girl spreading the false text rumor about her.

I always believe to the ability of those people older than us when it comes to this kind of condition or in any situation. What we think about the right thing to do, which might harm us also, is different from what they think. They know a better way wherein no one's life or safety will be put in danger. Maybe because they are older than us and they already know how to handle such thing so well. Or maybe because at their age, they already experienced things and faced problem much deeper than this kind of situation--- cyber-bullying.

So, If I were to be in this kind of situation, same as to that of Doris, I will do the same thing. Just like Doris, I won't let my emotions or feelings makes my decision because I know it won't do any good to me. I will just go with the flow and let this person do what she want to as long as she's not crossing my line. I will also ask for someone's advice regarding this problem just like what Doris did when she discussed the situation with her coach. I will ask  a person who knows me very well and will give advice that will help me solve the problem peacefully and in a better way.

I can say that I couldn't think of any possible way on how can I handle this same kind of situation. I couldn't think of any because what else can I do if I will be in Doris shoe if  i'm not going to tell someone about this and make decision without thinking? I will do what is right and I believe this is the best choice that I can made.

Resulta ng larawan para sa cyberbullying       Facing a problem regarding cyber-bullying cases is really a pain, but you don't need to be harsh or mean to the person who cyberbully-you. You just have to be patience and think of a possible solution on how you can avoid that person and stop her from doing such thing without violence or committing the same crime just to be fair.

Anti-Cyber-Bullying Act of 2015 passed

"Cyber-bullying is one such problem that the advancement in technology and social media has generated. It can potentially affect not only school-aged children, but also any individual who has access to a mobile phone or the internet."

That line comes from Camarines Sur Representative Rolando Andaya who proposed House Bill 5718 to define and penalize the crime of cyber-bullying. I also agree when he defined cyber-bullying as acts of cruelty committed using the internet or any form of electronic media or technology that has the effect of stripping one’s dignity or causing reasonable fear or physical or emotional harm.

The advancement of technology is good and useful especially in this generation wherein different types of gadgets has generated. But sometimes we got the wrong idea of using them that's why we end up in a wrong situation. Instead of using those gadgets in a better way we use it in blackmailing, posting or saying something to someone without accountability, sending text or email that might hurt others feeling, posting pictures that will humiliate or embarrass someone or even reveling their privacy. Those are the wrong doings that we should stop and with the help of this newly proposed House Bill 5718 we are able to attain it.

This House Bill entitled an Act of Defining and Penalizing the Crime of Cyber-bullying otherwise known as Anti-Bullying Act of 2015 aims to encourage people to become a responsible netizen about their cyber-actions. This law will help to enlightened everyone's mind when it comes to their actions via social media or internet that they have to use it properly without putting someones life into danger. We need a law  that will focus on one thing so that problems regarding this can be solved easily. So that cyber-bullying can be prevented. So that people who do cyber-bully will be aware of what they are doing. So that there will be no person who keeps on complaining about the kind of life they have and thinks that they don't deserve to live. And most of all, so that the case of cyber-bullying will end.

Resulta ng larawan para sa jail punishment

It's also a good thing that under this law is a punishment that will definitely make the people who keeps on cyber-bullying think twice whether they continue or they will stop. The law states that, those who will be found guilty of cyber-bullying shall be fined penalty of P50,000 but not more than P100,000 and imprisonment of not less than six months but not more than six years, or both.

So all in all, it would be a good thing if the law will be passed because it might probably the start of giving light to the life of others and putting an end onto someones nightmare.
